„An Island Odyssey: Scotland and Old Europe“, October 21st to 30th

The Festival unites the Scottish Isles with the shores and islands of the Mediterranean in an exchange and discovery of cultures and traditions, tracing the story of travel through the famous voyager Odysseus, whose epic expedition is revealed and explored throughout the Festival, while old routes are reconnected in the Year of Scotland's Islands with ‘Island Nights’ evenings offering the best of live entertainment.
George is performing at the following events:

ISLAND NIGHTS: FROM SKYE TO SARDINIA

North and South: two mountainous islands of legend and music meet in this night of entertainment, story and song. Skye storytellers Seoras (George) Macpherson and Cailean MacLean with clarsair Heather Yule, transport you across the winged isle and then over to the Sardinian artistry of Enedina Sanna and musician Enzo Favata, with bi-lingual support from Linda Williamson. This event is supported by the Italian Cultural Institute and the Regiona Autonoma della Sardegna.

Internationales Erzählfestival „Zwischen-Zeiten“ in Aachen, Germany

For the second time already, George is going to perform at „Zwischen-Zeiten“ Festival in Aachen (Germany), October 20th to 23rd.

Saturday, 22nd October 2011, 4pm:
„HIGHLAND CUSTOMS & CELTIC WISDOM“ (Workshop)

What does a highlander wear? What is a Fèileadh Mòr and what an Arasaid? A garment, a tool, food? What does one know about the Celts: their lore, their knowledge, their heroes, kings, queens and druids! George MacPherson from the Isle of Skye, a centre of teaching during the Celtic empire, will lead this cultural „workshop“.

Saturday, 22nd October 2011, 7.30pm:
„DIE GEISTER DER ERDE“

Glendale Gathering 2011: 27th, 28th and 29th of May

The Skye and Glendale Storytelling Gathering concentrates this year on Celtic Roots. Leading storytellers from several different countries which once formed part of the Celtic Empire meet together in Glendale on 27th, 28th and 29th of May to share stories of their part in the Celtic Empire and Druidism.

It is very appropriate that the main part of the event is in Glendale as it was the centre of Druidical teaching for the whole of the Celtic Empire and records exist of Heroes and Scholars from many countries including Germany, Switzerland and Ireland coming to Glendale for their final tuition in Art, Science and War with one of the greatest teachers of war being Sgiath the Amazon Queen of Skye who was better than any man in any form of Martial Art.

Come to Glendale to hear stories of Heroes, Kings, Queens and Druids and to walk in their steps.

Exhibition „Clacharan. (Stepping Stones)“ on show in Basel, Switzerland

George W. Macpherson has been engaging in a project together with Swiss photographer Anja Tanner. They have travelled around the Isle of Skye to various places George’s traditional stories and legends take place in.
From November 24th, 2010, a joint exhibition with photographic images and stories is going to be on display at the Gallery of F.Hoffmann-La Roche AG in Basel, Switzerland. George will be present at the opening from 5.30 pm with Live-Storytelling!
